Our Path to thinking Nature
One thing is great, that we are living in an age where thinking individualistic is promoted. At least we can find our path. Data is missing on how many are finding that path actually. After so much of formal education it should have become easier to know reality about our environment, but yet the youth is confused. Our environment, yes it is changing. In fact, we have achieved 10/10 in Environmental Sciences. Yet this over costly education is not helping us to actually act. (Why? Is a subject for another day). It is the need for every person to do something today, every day, positive, impactful for the environment. If…

Let the Nature be as it is?
Humans have progressed till now with the help of Nature. Every product which we use has some natural ingredient at its base. Products are packaged in a marketable way and hence we don’t understand this. This shows us how dependent we are on the nature not just for our basic needs but also for leisure. The age in which we live is called as Anthropocentric by Scientists. Anthro means Human and Centric means centered. Meaning, we have made ourselves the centre of this existence. We have assumed that everything is for us and if something is useless to us, it doesn’t have any value. Hence this has given rise to…

HIBERNATION WITH OPEN EYES?

#TREENURTURING
As IMD had predicted, monsoon has arrived in Maharashtra and covered the whole state. Government authorities, Local bodies, various NGOs will conduct tree plantation drives this year too. Many enthusiastic people like us would participate in tree plantation activities. We go for a plantation drive, We take our friends along, We take selfies, have a gala time, and feel really good about ourselves that day. We post our photos all over the social media with #treeplantation, #saveenvironment and gain the appreciation of our peers and family. But what next? Is it sufficient? Does our responsibility end here? Definitely not. How many of us will nurture the saplings planted by us this year?…

THE LAW OF ‘NATURE’!
Environment needs to seep into our thought process. We may be following the societal norms, the national laws, the religious norms but it is high time we hear the ‘Laws of Nature’ We hear demands of a strong nation, development, Reservations, a Mandir, secular University campuses; not that they are right or wrong but that we need to add to the list – Our right to Environment irrespective of nationality, religion, caste, creed. The Capital is facing a Health Emergency. The water crisis has always been there. Droughts, heavy rainfalls have been there too. But the ones facing these problems were farmers, not us. Today we have started taking these…
